Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American dancer, actress and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. Her first performances on Broadway include in the productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. In You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in an Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of her career working alongside renowned actors and directors across theatre and on television. she will continue that collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford will be next seen alongside Kumail Nannjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is involved in Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust which stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film is scheduled to stream through Disney's DTC platforms, as well as Hulu Original. Ashford will be returning in 2023 and will play opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the return of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will serve as the creators of the show. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the national crisis that swept up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment proceedings in over one century. Two seasons ago, Ashford played a prominent role in the hit show on CBS called B Positive. The show was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. Also, it featured Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Additional Broadway credits for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, in which she starred with George Wicked legally Blonde, and the role of Lauren In Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded an Tony Award nomination. Ashford, who was raised in Denver is now based living in Los Angeles and New York.
